Jerome "Jerry" Curtiss Sturm, 61 of Poplar Grove died on Monday, May 24, 2010 at University of Illinois at Chicago Hospital. Born on October 8, 1948 in Bensenville, son of George and Virginia Sturm. United in marriage to Cindy Cole on April 5, 1974 in Rock Falls. Jerry worked as a Carpenter, Maintenance Mechanic, Auto Mechanic and Field Machinist for area companies. Survived by his wife; children, Jason (Angela McCabe) Sturm of Cramerton, North Carolina, Jams (Krista McNeil) Sturm of Poplar Grove; sister, Sharon (Jim) Perkins of California; special nephew, Jeff (Chris) Sturm of Bessmer City, North Carolina and their children, Dakota, Shelby and Titus Sturm; father-in law, Tommy Cole of Paducah, KY; sister in laws, Tammy Cole of Big Rock, IL and Barb Sturm of Maiden Rock, WI; and many friends. Preceded in death by his siblings, George, Harvey, Dickey, Raymond Sturm and Georgianne Collins. A Memorial Open House will be held on Saturday, May 29, 2010 at 2:00 pm until - ? in the garage (Man Cave) at 210 Summitt Street in Poplar Grove where he spent the majority of his time restoring his many classic cars, including his 1964 Dodge with his sons.
