Jay Chatwood Springer, 44, of Rockford died on February 21, 2013 in his home. He was born on March 3, 1968 in Owosso, MI; son of Maurice and Ruth (Franze) Springer. Survived by his children, Jason and Cody, and their mother, Penny Eriks all of Joliet; mother, Ruth Springer of Rockford; sister, Lori Springer of Pontiac Michigan. Preceded in death by his father. Jay was formerly employed as a Maintenance Electrician at Reed-Chatwood in Rockford and Unisource in Joliet. Jay was a loving, fun dad that enjoyed spending time with his boys. He enjoyed hunting, camping and Frisbee. A Memorial Service will be Monday, March 4, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 3300 Rural Street, Rockford, with visitation at 1 p.m. until the time of the service. Rev.
