United in marriage to Michael McNames on September 2, 1967 in Rockton, IL. Jane was employed at Hazel's Hairstyling in Beloit, where she worked as a stylist. Her warm, caring nature was an excellent fit for her position as an aide at Goldie Floberg Center, prior to her retirement. In her free time, Jane enjoyed soaking up the sun in her sunroom, reading magazines and library books. Jane could also be found on local day trips with her sisters-in-law, searching for bargains at resale stores and estate sales. She was a skilled vegetable gardener, preserving her crops at the end of each growing season by canning and freezing the produce. Jane collected Fiesta Tableware, displaying her pieces in the kitchen and serving delicious home cooked meals to her family and guests. She enjoyed playing board games, doing puzzles and winning at Scrabble. Above all else, Jane will be remembered for the way that she loved and cared for her family. Her husband, Mike fondly said that he could not have asked for a more perfect wife. Jane loved her children dearly and was their mentor, sounding board and cheerleader throughout the course of their lives. Her grandchildren brought her the greatest joy. She attended numerous sporting and school events followed by multiple graduations; her pride was evident. She was the "fun" grandma, who was always there, ready with snacks, games and comforting hugs. Jane was the keeper of family history, sharing stories and memories when called upon. Survived by her husband of 58 years and 4 months; Michael McNames; daughter Beth (Patrick) McNames-Hoey; son, Matthew (Amanda Gregory) McNames; grandson, Andrew (Kajel) Rife; granddaughter, Audrey (Jeff) deRopp and her cherished pets, August West & Pearly Baker.
