Jane M. Johnson, 85, of Machesney Park was called "home" by her Heavenly Father on June 24, 2015. Jane was born on June 27, 1929 in Rockford, daughter of Raymond and Alta (Shaw) Lorenzen. Graduate of West High, class of 1947. United in marriage to Martin Johnson on March 27, 1948. Jane was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She brought lots of laughter and joy to her home, with her quick wit and compassionate spirit. Her artistic and creative skills were showcased through her ceramic artistry and costume design. She was a skilled seamstress, creating numerous costumes, prom dresses, and outfits for her family throughout the years. Jane took special care to make sure that every member of her family felt special and cherished by doing unique things, and supporting their various endeavors. She was a founding member of Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church, and former member of Redeemer Covenant in Beloit, and First Free Church of Rockford; where she volunteered in the bookstore, and led a cancer support group which she founded. She was currently a member of Grace Reformed Baptist Church. Survived by her children, Karen (Harold) Scott of Cleveland, OH, Brad (Kendra) Johnson of Rockford, Jennifer (Terry) Egan of Rockford; grandchildren, Erin (Preston) Fallat of Ft. Wayne, IN, Ryan (Sally) Johnson of Conway, AR, Justin (Evonne) Johnson of Rockford, Sara Hallstein of Rockford, Shannon Hallstein of Rockford; grandson-in-law, Jason Sopkovich; great grandchildren, Micaiah Sopkovich, Hudson Wallace, Madeline Fallat, Nolan Johnson, Benjamin Johnson, Olivia Fallat, Mason Fallat, Patrick Fallat, Collin Johnson and Griffin Johnson; Predeceased by her parents; brother, Bob Lorenzen; granddaughter, Amanda Sopkovich, and husband Martin Johnson. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2015 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Grace Reformed Baptist Church, 6310 Guilford Road Rockford, Pastor Dale Smith will officiate.
