Gregory Allen Luna, 65, passed away peacefully at home on July 18, 2026 with Kathy and Nelle by his side. Born on January 9, 1961 in Alpine, Texas, son of H. Greg and Gretchen (Hauiesen) Luna. Graduate of Guilford High School in 1979. After over 30 years as a vibration technician at Woodward Governor and Chrysler, Greg decided he wanted to be a long haul truck driver. He spent 10 years on the road with NPR as his constant companion. Greg was an avid cyclist and loved to travel. He and Kathy took many trips to far-off places. He was a true renaissance man and will be forever remembered by the many who knew and loved him. Greg is survived by his partner of 23 years, Kathy Manson; dad, H. Greg (friend, Bea Simon) Luna; brother, Alex (Sarah) Luna; and nephews, AJ and John Luna. Preceded in death by his mom, Gretchen; sister, Kathie Marko and Murph the cat. The family thanks Northern Illinois Hospice, especially Marti, for their thoughtful care of Greg during his final weeks.
