Obituary

Gordon B. Berry Jr., 74 of Pecatonica died on Saturday, August 20, 2011 at Medina Manor Nursing Home. Born on January 26, 1937. He worked as a Chef at Pink Pony, D'Agostino's, Twin Oaks and Milestone. Gordy was a generous, tender hearted man, who received great joy out of giving to others. He loved being surrounded by family and friends, cooking and baking, and cheering for the Green Bay Packers. He is survived by his best friend, and lifelong companion Mary Lou Finch; sister, Mona Moe of Madison, WI; step-children, Charles (Aneita) Finch of Pecatonica, Steven(Sandy) Finch of Loves Park; grandchildren, Michelle (Shawn) Leathers, Heather Finch, Charles Finch, Tim Finch, Julie Finch; great-grandchildren, Isaac, Honor, Nicholas Leathers, Mack and Elizabeth Finch; nieces, Terry (Don) Dummer of Madison, WI, Cheryl (Marty) Cavan of Milwaukee, WI; nephews, Douglas Moe of Pardeeville WI, Nick Crosby of Madison, WI; numerous great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Kathy, brother Douglas, and brother in laws Arnie Moe and Gerry Albertson. A special thank you to the staff at Medina Manor for their loving care of Gordy over the past few years.

A Memorial Service will be held on August 29, 2011 at 11:00 a.m., at Grace Funeral & Cremation Services, 1340 South Alpine Rd. Rockford. Pastor Ken Schmoyer will officiate. Cremation rites will be accorded.
