Gloria M. Larson, 92, of Rockford went to be her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on September 17, 2016. Born on December 11, 1923 in Rockford, daughter of Edward and Ida (Pierson) Beck. Gloria danced her way into heaven early Saturday morning; right into the arms of her husband Ralph E. Larson. Their journey began at the Rainbow Gardens Dance Club in Belvidere, in the early 1940's. They were united in marriage on December 4, 1943 in Rockford. Their daughter Linda was born soon after, and shortly after her birth, they were given the gift of raising two beautiful twin nieces, Lois and Lorraine; whose mother died during childbirth; daughter Sharon was born next. Both Gloria and Ralph loved having children around, making sure that they were always available to babysit the children of relatives and friends whenever they were called upon. She loved cooking, sharing her famous Bar-B-Q's, pineapple upside down cake and cookies. Gloria was a member of Alpine Lutheran Church, where she participated in many circles. Survived by her daughters, Linda (Tito C.) Nappi of Davis, Sharon Larson of Machesney Park; grandson, Rodney M. Nelson of Rockford; great-grandson Damion M. Wolf of Loves Park; brothers, Bill (Beverly) Beck of Loves Park, Eugene Beck of Beaver Dam, WI; sister-in-law, Ann Freedlund of Rockford and several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents and husband. Gloria's family is grateful to the staff at River Bluff – Eagle Wing and Hospice Care of America for their loving care. Celebration of Life on Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Grace Funeral & Cremation Services, 1340 S. Alpine Rd. Rockford – at Colonial Village. Chaplain Ken Schmoyer will officiate.
