George Lewis Steiner, 70, of Roscoe passed June 23, 2021. Born on February 8, 1951 in New York, NY; son of Saul and Gertrude (Lugue) Steiner. George obtained his GED from the State University of New York. United in marriage to Norma Pair on July 28, 1973 in Fairfax, VA. Served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Saratoga. George was a computer programmer; and was formerly employed at Borg Warner, Rockford Powertrain and Regal Beloit, where he retired from in April of 2014. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. Survived by wife; children, DawnRenee (Christopher) Garner of Huntsville, AL, Troy (Melody) Steiner of Rockford, Falon (Alex) Kozlowski of Clarksville, TN; grandchildren, Sierra and Aaron Garner; Zaine, Dylan and Jackson Steiner; Kara and Lillian Kozlowski; brother, Dr. Arnold (Lina) Steiner of Staten Island, NY; several nieces, nephews, cousins; a circle of close friends and dog, Zack. Preceded in death by his parents. Celebration of Life Saturday, June 26, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. at Grace Funeral & Cremation Services, 4301 N. Main St. Rockford.
