George L. Shattuck, 54, of Rockford went to be with his Lord and Savior on July 2, 2014 at 2:55 p.m. in his home. He was born on August 24, 1959 in Mt. Pleasant, MI; son of Harold and Helen (Morse) Shattuck. George served his county honorably in the United States Army. United in marriage to Lois Simmonds on September 27, 1994. In his youth, George was employed at the Petoskey Marathon Gas Station in Michigan, and also worked as a mason for his Uncle, Francis Otto. He was a skilled craftsman and handyman who put his skills to work for a variety of companies, including the Harbor Light Chapel. Survived by his loving wife, Lois; parents, Harold and Helen; siblings, Stephen Shattuck, Rick Shattuck, Randall (Kathi) Shattuck, Gregory (Mardi) Shattuck, Melody (Brian) Bennett, Melissa (Erick) Lasley; and numerous nieces and nephews. A Celebration of George's Life will be on Monday, July 7, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Heartland Community Church, 1280 South Alpine Rd. Rockford. Visitation at noon until the time of service.
