Geneva A. Charnesky, 88, of Loves Park went to be with her Lord and Savior on November 29, 2017. Born on August 18, 1929 in Bowling Green, KY; daughter of John and Carmen (Davenport) Adams. Graduate of Ben Davis High School in Indianapolis, IN; class of 1947. United in marriage to John M. Charnesky on August 8, 1953 in Milwaukee, WI. Member of First Evangelical Free Church, where she served as a Grief Share facilitator and was active in Sunrise Sunday School. She led the Women's Aglow Bible Study in Rockford. Geneva was a sports fan, and enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packers and the Cubs play. She loved to travel and was an avid reader. Survived by her daughters, Jill Charnesky, Lori Charnesky, Linda (James) Iaun, Nancy (Daniel) McHugh, Kathryn Charnesky, Karen (Joe) Platzbecker; grandchildren, Aaron and Andrew Iaun, Rachel and Emily McHugh, Kyle, Hope and Emma Platzbecker and Ben Charnesky; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brothers, William and Robert Adams. Visitation on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at 10 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. at First Evangelical Free Church, 2223 N. Mulford in Rockford. Funeral service at 12:00 p.m. at the church; Rev. Chuck Rife will officiate. Interment in Arlington Memorial Park. Memorial gifts may be made to the Rockford Rescue Mission.
