Gene W. Addy, 76, of Rockford died on December 11, 2023. Born November 30, 1947 in Newberry, SC; son of Julian and Lula (Nichols) Addy. Gene attended school in South Carolina and obtained his Bachelor Degree from Clemson University in 1974. United in marriage to Donna M. Jaeger on October 17, 1981 in Columbia, SC. He retired from Del Monte Foods in Rochelle. He loved fishing in his free time and watching Clemson Football and Basketball. Gene had a strong faith in Jesus Christ. Survived by children, Brandy (Jason) Lathrop, Rebecca Murphy, Jeremiah (Angie) Addy; grandchildren, Brandon, Cody, Addison, Kylie, Jordan, Caleb, Lily, Harvey and one on the way; sister, Donna (Dickie) Pittman; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Jerry and Glen Addy and wife, Donna. Memorial Visitation on December 19, 2023 from 10 am to 11 am at Grace Funeral & Cremation Services; 4301 N. Main St. Rockford, followed by a Memorial Service at 11 am. Pastor Dave Coke will officiate.
