Obituary

We Mourn His Passing And Celebrate His Life
Gary Lee "Pots" Pontenberg, 60 of Rockton died on Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at Rockford Memorial Hospital. He was born on October 12, 1950 in Oak Park, son of Forrest John and Ada (nee Daughenbaugh) Pontenberg. Served in the United States Army in Korea and Vietnam. Pots married the love of his life, Debbie on August 18, 1972 at the Old Stone Church in Rockton. Member of the Rockton American Legion Post 332. He worked for 36 years at Ecolab. Gary loved visiting Florida spending time near the ocean, and fishing . When he wasn't watching the Green Bay Packers, he could be found walking his favorite sweetheart, Sheba. His hobbies included target practice, reading, and playing on the computer. He enjoyed visiting with his buds at the Turtle Tap and the Wheel. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Debbie; son, Dustin (Heidi) Pontenberg of Rockton; sister, Darlene Ballard; brother Forrest Pontenberg; brothers in law, Gary Lee, James Dale (Donna) Mcmaster, and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents; son, Corey Lee Pontenberg, brother in law, Lee Ballard. A Celebration of Life will be from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, September 17, 2011 at the Rockton Community Center, 302 W. Main St. Rockton, IL.
