Gary "Fester" L. Crabb, 53, of Rockford died on October 28, 2018 of complications from an asthma attack. Born May 11, 1965 in Rockford, son of Gordie and Sandra (Huyck) Crabb. Gary was a skilled carpenter and was formerly employed at Denk & Roche Builders. He was a wonderful father, loving Opa to his treasured grandchildren, and devoted brother, uncle and friend. Gary was full of stories, some were true…some were not. He was warm and loving, and anyone who met him considered him a friend. Gary loved to make people laugh with his stories, jokes and pranks. Survived by his children, Ashley and Damien Crabb; grandchildren, Janessa "Nessa" and Jadon "Bubba" Ridings; siblings, David Crabb, Barb Crabb-Holder and Karen (Kevin Strahorn) Crabb; nieces and nephews, Laura and Josh Holder and Leah Kopp-Crabb; and dog, Tater. Preceded in death by his parents. Memorial visitation on Friday, November 2, 2018 from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Souls Harbor Church, 2802 11th St. Rockford, followed by Celebration of life at 3 p.m. Pastor Gary Fuhrer will officiate.
