Gary Lynn Collman, 73, of Rockford died on September 21, 2017 in his home. Born on October 26, 1943 in Rockford, son of Arthur "Bud" and Doris (Turner) Collman. Formerly employed by Rockford Powertrain and Twin Disc in Racine, WI. In his younger years, he was a skilled baseball player and was offered the opportunity to try out for a major league team in Milwaukee. He was a diehard Chicago Cubs Fan, and loved Green Bay Packer football. Gary enjoyed square dancing and bowling. Survived by his mother, Doris of Rockford; significant other of 25 years Lynn Giddens of Rockford; children, Nanci (Doug) Fry of Rockford, Todd (Mary) Collman of Rockton and their mother, Jan Collman; grandchildren, Heather Collman, Sheane Fry; cousin, Vincent (Bonnie) Smith of Big Rock; numerous cousins; and extended family, including Lynn's children, Sherry (Shane) Trautvetter, of Sycamore, Christopher Giddens of Seattle, WA grandchildren, Jeremy, Shay, Prescott, Keera, Chase; great-grandchildren, Zayne, Wyatt and Siamese cat, Koko. Preceded in death by his father, and sister Beverly Collman. Memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Heartland Hospice.
