Frederick A. Jenkins, 73, of Rockford died May 21, 2021. Born on January 20, 1948 in Rockford, son of Hugh E. and Dorothy Leona (Baxter) Jenkins. Fred attended East High School and graduated from Illinois School for the Visually Impaired. United in marriage to Dorothy (Wright) Rainwater on May 22, 1971. Fred was a dedicated stay at home dad. He took excellent care of his children when they were younger. He was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles. Survived by his children, Kimberly (James) Warkentien, Jeffrey (Jena) Jenkins, Tammy (James) Scott; grandchildren, Shylar, Shaylee, Joe, Jace, Frances, Maisy; great-grandchildren, Alaina, Bryson, Aleecia, Samara, Jacen, Shayden; brother, Jim (Amber) Jenkins; brother-in-law, Robert Simoens; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceded in death by his parents; brother, Hugh Jenkins; sister, Marjorie "Sis" Simoens; daughter, Shelly Rainwater, and wife, Dorothy. Visitation June 2, 2021 from 10 am to 11 am at Grace Funeral & Cremation Services, 4301 N. Main St. Rockford, followed by a Celebration of Fred's life at 11 a.m. Interment in Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
