Fred Donald Brace, 63, of Machesney Park died on September 29, 2012 at 9:30 a.m. in his home. He was born on December 20, 1948 in Rockford, son of Donald and Mary (Dach) Brace. Alumni of Harlem High School and Rock Valley College. He was united in marriage on May 20, 1972 to Cheryl Dosier in Rockford. Formerly employed at CamCar/Textron and the Barbara Olson Center for Hope. He was a member of Journey Church Ministries. Survived by his children, Laura (Aaron) Bolin of Memphis, Tenn., Rebecca (Tim) Peterson of Rockford, Stephen (Kim) Brace of Roscoe; grandchildren, Zachary, Alyssa, Caden, and Morgan Bolin, Andrew (Becca), and Jessica Peterson, Megan and Joseph Sims, Caleb and Evan Brace; great-grandchild, Juliana Peterson; mother, Mary Brace of Rockford; siblings, Elroy (Yoko) Brace, Karen (Greg) Poff, Phyllis (Ronnie) Kitsemble, all of Machesney Park. Preceded in death by his father, and wife, Cheryl on April 12, 2001. A funeral service will be on Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at 12:00 p.m. at Journey Church Ministries, 7825 Forest Hills Road, Loves Park. Visitation at 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Pastor Steve Mathews will officiate. Cremation rites will be accorded. Grace Funeral & Cremation Service is assiting the family.
