Elvin "Pete" Edwards, 62, of Rockford died on February 12, 2016 in his home. Born on January 16, 1954 in Rockford, son of Leroy and Katherine (Linder) Edwards. United in marriage to Brenda Hendrix on June 6, 1992. Pete was a jokester and storyteller with a warm, engaging personality who never met a stranger. He loved being outdoors, spending time camping, hunting and fishing. Survived by his wife, Brenda; children, Michelle (Matthew) Mattson, Jessie (Candice) Edwards; step-children, Patricia (Ryan) Jamison, JJ Reddick, Dewey Brantley; 28 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren; mother, K.L. Lois Bondra; siblings, Gene (Cindy) Edwards, Eddie (Sharyn) Edwards, Ervin (Ana) Edwards, Elaine Hammond; brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws, Sue (Brian) Bedard, Barbara Dawson, Barb Holcomb, David Hendrix, Fred (Diane) Hendrix; special nephew, William Jamison, and special cousin Carol Delong. Preceded in death by his grandparents; father, Leroy Edwards; infant brother, Steven Edwards step-daughter, Michelle Hunt, sister Ellen Jackson; and three grandchildren.
