Elizabeth Anne "Bud" Manson, 94 , died on November 14, 2015 in Swedish American Hospital , peacefully and on her own terms. Bud was a classy , independent woman and was very proud that she still lived in the house that she and her husband built in the early 1950s. She loved a good book, a cold beer and watching the Cubs . Her family would like to think that their recent trip to the playoffs was a final gift after her many years of faithful support. Born on March 13, 1921 in Rockford, daughter of Frank and Anne (Reilly) Thomas. She graduated from Muldoon High School and proceeded to work @ the Rockford Register Star until she retired after 45 years of dedicated service . Married Wayne Manson on February 18, 1950. Bud was a long time member of Alpine Lutheran Church. She is survived by her children, Kathleen (Greg Luna) Manson, Thomas (Vicki) Manson, all of Rockford, Collene (Dennis) Cordova of Bellevue, WA; grandchildren, Sarah (Jason), Elliot, Christopher, Quinn and Alec; great-grandchildren, Peyton and Addison; sister, Shirl Rubly ; special friends , Pam and Steve, Jan and Alyce, as well as an extended circle of friends and her Alpine Lutheran Church family. Preceded in death by her husband and son Michael. Celebration of Life on Saturday, November 28, 2015 at Alpine Lutheran Church, 5001 Forest View Ave. Rockford at 12:00 p.m. Memorial visitation at 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
