Eleanor Ann (Garecht) Phillips, 82, of Roscoe died on July 24, 2017 in her home. Born on December 5, 1934 in Taylor, ND; daughter of Jack and Rose (Fix) Garecht. United in marriage to Jack B. Phillips on July 3, 1965. Eleanor worked in manufacturing at Oaks in Delavan, WI, Admiral in Harvard, later retiring from Woodward Governor. Her co-workers thought the world of her and called her Elly. Elly loved to cook for her family and she was very good at it; expect when she was heavy handed with pepper shaker…which was quite often! She loved to play rummy and usually kicked her daughter's butt when they played. Elly decorated sweatshirts and had 25 at the time of her passing. The most important thing to Elly was helping her daughter raise Kyle. Elly was devoted to Kyle and he was spoiled; just ask him the "Tinky Winky" story for verification! Elly had an extensive collection of bird houses and angels, and had too many to count. Her family loved everything about her, except for her ability to over-pepper pretty much everything she cooked. She will be missed by many. Survived by daughter, Lori (Davis) Johns and her husband Mark Johns of Roscoe; grandchildren, Kyle Davis of Roscoe, Aaron Johns of Rockford, Tori Johns of Chicago, Faye Renee Inoue of New York, NY; sister, Issabelle "Issy" Kostenko of Mukwonago, WI; and three sister-in-laws. Preceded in death by parents, husband Jack, on June 24, 1994; seven siblings and three step-siblings. One of Elly's last requests was that no one wear dark, depressing or dressy clothes at her Celebration of Life. Her last wish was a room full of bright, vibrant colors. Celebration of Life Saturday July 29, 2017 at noon at Grace Funeral & Cremation Services - at Colonial Village. Visitation at 10 a.m. until the time of service. Cremation rites will be accorded.
