Elbert Kenneth Massingill, 88, of Rockford, IL; formerly of Dexter, MO died August 24, 2022 in Rockford, IL. Born February 3, 1934 in Hattieville, AR; son of Alexander and Betty (Duvall) Massingill. United in marriage to Tina Mansfield. Formerly employed as a Production Manager at Hawley Products in St. Charles, IL. Elbert loved farming and gardening, often gifting the majority of his vegetables to friends, family and those in need. He enjoyed watching his great-grandkids at their sport and school activities. Survived by daughter Rhonda (Ron) Himes; grandchildren, Heidi (Jason) Schnulle, Ryan (Jolyn) Himes, Jen (Brad) Martin; great-grandchildren, Brooklyn Schnulle, Waylon Schnulle, Alec Martin, Miles Himes, Madelyn Martin, Eli Himes; sister-in-law, Judy Massingill; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceded in death by his wife; son, Elbert Kenneth Massingill Jr.; siblings, Robert Lee Massingill, Frank Massingill, Zettie Douglas, Wiladean Monroe, Mildred Davis and dear friend, Marlene Earls. Visitation Saturday August 27, 2022 from 1 pm to 3 pm at Grace Funeral & Cremation Services; 4301 N. Main St. Rockford, IL. Additional visitation on Saturday, September 3, 2022 from 12 pm to 2 pm at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home, 113 W Crumb Ave, Bernie, MO; followed by a funeral service at 2 pm.
