Obituary

Dorothy Brenda Osborn went home to Heaven on January 6, 2021. Born July 18, 1942 in Baltimore, MD to John and Edith O'Neal. Family moved to Miami, FL in 1943. Brenda attended 11 schools from K-12h, in Miami, Fl, Ohio, and Illinois. After graduation from Andrew Jackson High (Miami), she moved to Rockford, IL and married Bill Roggensack. After 22 years they divorced. They had three children: Mark, Laurie, and Stephen. In 1984, (in SC) married William Smith and retired back to FL. After 23 years together he passed on to heaven. Returning to IL from FL (to join family), she renewed a friendship that blossomed into a sweet abiding love and marriage to David D. Osborn. Brenda embraced life wholeheartedly, giving back to others unreservedly. There were many momentous occasions and memorable experiences woven throughout her journey. But the most meaningful moment that prevailed and carried her was when she gave her life to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, at age 13. That personal relationship was foundational to her self-worth, value to the Kingdom of God and His purposes, and future for her. She was immovable regarding the truth of His Word and that He, Jesus Christ, was exactly who He said He was and will always and ever be, for eternity. It was her Granny O'Neal that was instrumental in sharing the Gospel and love to Brenda. Survived by: beloved husband, Dave; son, Mark (Debi); daughter, Laurie Cory (Mike); son, Steve (Jeanne); brothers, Patrick, nephew, Sean; grandchildren, Jerred & Rachel, Andrew, Crystal, & Stephanie, Christian, Jacob, & Lexi; great grandchildren, Ava & Marshall; sister-of my-heart, Andrea; Lifetime BFF, Judy; girlfriends, Cindy, Judy & Karen; honorable mention and affection to Craig, Mary, & Spring (Smith) and family. Also to the many not listed but know that because our lives crossed paths, blessing flowed. Of course must mention devoted pets, Corky & Misty (deceased), & Peaches. Also deceased is brother, John; and friend, Gail. Thanks for the memories each and every one created indelibly on her heart and extended a sense of belonging for always. In lieu of flowers a fund is established to purchase a public park bench In Memoriam at one of Brenda's most loved oasis' located at Morton (Swan) Lake in Lakeland, Florida.
