Donna Ann Walden, 51, of Rockford died on May 8, 2017 at Mercy Health System. Born on September 11, 1965 in Taylorville, daughter of Norman and Joan (Blondiau) Walden. Graduate of Taylorville High School and Southern Illinois University. Donna was formerly employed as a Program Director at RocVale Children's Home. Donna enjoyed drawing, and loved her pets. She could be found shopping for bargains at thrift stores and watching crime shows on television. She was a member of Heartland Community Church, where she volunteered at ShareStuff and the Launch Ministry. Survived by her special friend, Kristina Chermak of Rockford, and her parents Paul and Linda Chermak of Byron; sisters, Deborah (Jeff) Heldman of McMurray, PA, Denise Gilliam of DuQuoin; nieces and nephews, Renee Heldman, Chelsea Gilliam, Christopher Heldman, Chandra Gilliam, Chance Gilliam; Aunt, Rita (Gary) Briggs of Blue Mound; and numerous cousins. Preceded in death by her grandparents, Cecil and Helen Walden, Andrew and Marie Blondiau; parents and Aunt Mary Walden. Celebration of Life on Thursday May 11, 2017 at 4 p.m. at Grace Funeral & Cremation Services, 1340 South Alpine Rd. Rockford - at Colonial Village.
