DONALD W. GIBBS, 77 BELVIDERE – Don W Gibbs, 77, of Belvidere passed away peacefully December 3, 2016. Born in Belvidere, November 23, 1939 to Donald W. Gibbs and Ruth (Fairgrieves) Schmidt. Married Carol Graham on March 11th 1961, in Garden Prairie. Don was a proud Chrysler employee for 35 years, most recently as a millwright, retiring in 2003. He served in the Marine Corps and was a proud supporter of God and our Country. Family and holidays were very important him, he enjoyed being surrounded by loved ones. He also enjoyed the breakfast group of guys that met every morning to socialize about world events and everything in between. He will truly be missed by all those who knew him. Survivors include children; Rhonda Guasto, Donnita (Rick) Lutzow, Lisa (Brent) Walker, and Donald Gibbs; grandchildren, Kara (Matt) Donovan, Zack and Nick Lutzow, and Tyler and Jake Walker; great-grandchild, Madison Donovan; numerous nieces and nephews; and brother Ron Gibbs. Predeceased by wife Carol Gibbs, mother Ruth Schmidt, and father Donald Gibbs. Private services are planned. Cremation rites have been accorded by Grace Funeral & Cremation Services.
