Donald Eugene Doyle, 78, of Rockford passed away on October 8, 2024. Born October 7, 1946 in Champaign; son of Eugene and Phyllis (Reasa) Doyle. He attended school in Albany, WI; graduate of West High School Class of 1964. After graduation, he served in the United States Navy from 1966-1970 where he completed two tours in Vietnam. Retired from Winnebago County where he worked as a Corrections Officer. Life member of Loves Park VFW Post #9759. Don loved the Green Bay Packers and spending time on the golf course. Preceded in death by his father, Eugene Doyle; and wife/companion of 30+ years, Charlotte Doyle. Survived by his mother, Anna Doyle of Rockford; stepdaughter, Lori Didier of Loves Park; stepson, Brian Fosler of Davis, sister-in-law, Sharon Pierce of Rockford, and many loyal veteran and other close friends who meant the world to him. Visitation will be Saturday, October 26, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Funeral & Cremation Services; 4301 N. Main St., Rockford. Pastor Ron Hoekstra will officiate.
