Denise Elaine Gustafson, 53, of Leaf River died on March 25, 2013 in her home. She was born on June 1, 1959 in Rockford, daughter of George and Betty (Taylor) Outzen. Graduate of Harlem High School. United in Marriage to Shane Gustafson on June 20, 1980 in Rockford. Denise enjoyed reading and working in her garden. She loved animals, rescuing several cats and dogs. Her dogs Wrigley and Max were her favorites. She worked at Rockford Products for 31 years, and was most recently employed at Forest City Gear. She is survived by her husband, Shane; siblings, Jo Ann (Daniel) Kittle of Winnebago, Sandra Triplett of Machesney Park, Chris (Cindy) Outzen of Williamsport, PA, Deborah Milsaps of Machesney Park, Timothy (Diana) Outzen of Machesney Park; special nephew, Andy Milsaps; special great niece, Victoria Milsaps; numerous nieces; nephews; cousins; mother-in-law, Marilyn Gustafson of Belvidere; brother-in-laws, Clifford (Renee) Gustafson, of Rockford, Gary (Sandy) Gustafson of Belvidere, Dennis (Julie) Gustafson of Belvidere. Preceded in death by her parents, brother-in-laws, Timothy and Tommy Gustafson and Danny Triplett; and father in law Bernard Gustafson. A Celebration of Denise's Life will be Friday, March 29, 2013 at noon at Heartland Community Church, 1280 South Alpine Rd. Rockford. Pastor Gordy Smith will officiate.
