Christine M. Buckner, 68, of Harrison died on August 7, 2018. Born on April 23, 1950 in Portage, WI; daughter of Fred and Helen (Griffin) Cox. Christine married Joe Buckner Sr. on October 25, 1969 in Galena. Christine was a school bus driver for over 20 years for the Rockton Bus Company, where she drove the bus for sporting events and for children at the Goldie Floberg Center. She was employed as a CNA at Fair Oaks in South Beloit and Amberwood in Rockford. Christine had a strong faith and was a devoted Christian. She was a loving wife, mom and grandma. She leaves behind her husband, Joe Sr.; children, Joe (Stacey) Buckner Jr. of Davis, Jamie (Debbie) Buckner of Roscoe, Adam (Stephanie) Buckner of Durand, David Buckner of Rockford; 6 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild; brother, Jim (Jill) Cox of Belvidere; special friends Helen and Glen Shaw of MS; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceded in death by her parents, and brother Fred Cox. Visitation on Friday, August 10, 2018 from 11 a.m. to 1 pm at Grace Funeral & Cremation Services, 1340 S. Alpine Rd. at Colonial Village in Rockford, with Celebration of Life at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment in Laona Cemetery, Laona Township.
