Chancy S. Davis, 81, of Belvidere, died on July 24, 2013 at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born on February 21, 1932, in Effingham, son of Carl and Lora (Schuyler) Davis. He served in the United States Army from 1952-54. United in Marriage to LoraJean Pettie in 1956, together they had four children. Moved to Belvidere in 1963. He married Bonita (Owens) Davis in 1974. He retired from Chrysler in 1994 after 27 years of employment. He enjoyed working on cars and tractors, gardening, meeting friends for coffee, cooking for his friends and family and playing with his grandchildren. Survivors include wife, Bonnie Davis; children Kent (Donna) Davis, Connie Davis Freise, Cindy (Don) Vosburgh, Kevin (Michelle) Davis, Skyler (Lauren) Davis, Katrina (Paul Feddersen) Davis, and Karleen Davis; stepson Brent (Michelle )Seymour; Siblings Wayne (Sandy) Davis, Kenny (Sharon) Davis, Larry (Linda) Davis, Etha (Cecil) Blankenship, and Cherryl Ellsworth, 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his parents, grandparents, former spouse, grandson Abel Davis, brother-in-law Robert Ellsworth, nephews Ryan Ellsworth and Roger Davis. Funeral Service will be at 11a.m. on Tuesday July 30, 2013 with visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of service at Faith Baptist Church; 1637 7th Ave. Belvidere. Rev. Wesley Hulstedt will officiate. Additional visitation from 5-8 p.m. on Monday, July 29, 2013 at the church. Interment in Highland Gardens.
