Carolyn J. McNeil (nee Tingley), 84, of Roscoe died peacefully at home on February 4, 2018, surrounded by her loving family. Born of August 16, 1933 in Galesburg, IL; daughter of Francis David "Shorty" and Iva Geneva (House) Tingley. United in Marriage to Wayne "Bud" L. McNeil on June 7, 1953 in Galesburg, they were together for 64 years. Carolyn was formerly employed as a Registered Nurse at Cottage Hospital in Galesburg and Galesburg Clinic. She was a loving, kind, caring and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Carolyn had a strong faith and was a member of Rockton United Methodist Church. She was a skilled cook, and also enjoyed tending to her beautiful flower garden, traveling and reading. She never missed a night of Wheel of Fortune, and also enjoyed watching football, especially the Chicago Bears, and the Saturday night Polka Party Show on cable. Survivors include her children, Kathy (Roberta Oakley) McNeil, Eddy McNeil, Tina (Jerry) Schulz and Penny McNeil; grandchildren, Robby (Allison) Ebany, Jodi (Chad) Smith, Jimmy (Christin) Christie, Jeremy Schulz, and Tory (Tricia) McNeil; great-grandchildren; Justin, Tyler, Payton, Hadley, Paisley, Allyson, Jackson and Madeline; siblings, Francis David (Beverly) Tingley II, Jean I. Stranger Robinson, Robert (Sue Smith) Tingley, and James (Dee) Tingley; and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband, Bud, on November 10, 2017, parents, a sister and two brothers. A Celebration of both Bud and Carolyn's lives will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made in her memory to either Rockton United Methodist Church, 102 W.
