Carl Daniel Mangruem, age 62 of Rockford, Illinois left this earthly life peacefully on August 22, 2026 at UWSwedish American Hospital surrounded by family. Born January 27, 1964 in Limestone County Alabama. He was the youngest of 13 children to Tommie and Rosie Mangruem. Carl answered his call of duty and proudly served in the United States Army for 5 years, 8 months and 4 days. He cherished the relationships and memories from his Army days. After serving his country he became a CNC Machinist for 30 years until his retirement. Carl leaves to cherish his wife, and best friend, Sandra. His namesake Carl Jordan Mangruem, "Daddy's baby girl." Tiffani Amanda Ivey (Matthew) along with a host of children that he called his own and they belonged to him; brothers; Henry (Mary), Robert and David Mangruem; sisters, Addie and Sharrion Mangruem. He leaves behind his bonus mother, Linda Stone and his sisters-in-laws; Shawna Gibbons, Melanie (Scott) Gaddis, and Cheryl Gibbons. Carl leaves a village of nieces and nephews that he loved dearly. To mention everyone specifically would not be possible due to his unique love and special relationships with each one individually. Carl was very devoted to his family. His motto was "Family First." He was loyal and dedicated to his family. He loved, protected, and corrected those nearest and dearest to his heart. He enjoyed spending time with his family listening to music and telling stories and jokes. Sometimes just sitting in silent reflection, enjoying memories and good times. He truly loved each and every one of his family members. He is reunited with his parents; Tommie and Rosie Mangruem; brothers, Bobby Joe, Albert, Johnnie Lee, Donnie (Louise) ,Calvin Sr. (Danelle) and his brother-in-love, James Gibbons. He is also reuniting with his sisters; Betty Mae Billberry, and Clara Mangruem. He is spending time with Grandpa's special angel Destinee Anniya, whom he couldn't wait to see, along with his special friend and brother, Bryan Frazier. There is a joyful reunion happening in heaven. In his own words, "Don't cry for me because I am going home. I'll see you when you get there." Visitation on Saturday, September 5, 2026 from 11 am to 1 pm, followed by a funeral service at 1 pm at Grace Funeral & Cremation Services, 4301 N. Main St. Rockford.
