Calvin L. Ashley, 69, departed this earthly life on December 31, 2022. Born November 30, 1953 in Rockford; son of Zenoulous and Lorene (Christopher) Ashley. United in marriage to Pearl Maclin on September 28, 1983 in Rockford. Calvin retired from Ingersoll Milling where we was employed as a welder for 33 years Calvin was a devoted husband and loving family man. Calvin's family was his world. He loved weekend BBQ's, annual trips to the Wisconsin Dells, and spending time with them all. He liked to relax with a good cigar, listen to Sam Cook's music and fish in his free time. Survived by wife; Pearl; children, Stephanie Brown, Antonio (Alexandria Wright) Ashley Sr.; grandchildren, Jazlyn Maclin, Stevie Brown Jr. Jaila Brown, Antonio Ashley Jr.; great-grandchildren, Jurnee Holliman, Javeah Bowden ; brother, Albert (Cecelia) Belins; sisters-in-law, Diane, JoAnn, Dorothy Ashley; niece, Melissa (RC) Pettigrew; Godchildren, Timothy Hill, Marcie Hill and best friend, John Tolan. Preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Curtis, David and Charles Ashley. Per Calvin's wishes, no services will be held. Memorials may be made to the family in his memory.
