Brenda Inez King, 68, of Loves Park, passed away peacefully in her home on March 20, 2026, with her husband, Curtis King, by her side. Born April 16, 1957, in Rockford, daughter of Maynard and Verna (Eddington) Rucker. She retired from JL Clark, where she worked in Packaging.
An active member of Riverside Community Church, Brenda was deeply dedicated to her family. Her home was almost always filled with the laughter of her children and grandchildren. She had a passion for travel, enjoyed crafting and spending time outdoors in the sun.
Brenda was preceded in death by her brother, Jeff (Pat) Rucker; grandson, Caden King; bonus daughter, Crystal King; and special friend Karen Clark.
She is survived by her husband, Curtis King; children, Kristina Taylor Taylor, Maliesha (Greg) Ellis, Robert Eviston, and Joseph Eviston; bonus daughter, Amber (Sunil) King; grandchildren, Danny, Gregory, Becca, Adriana, Angelina, Lelina, Lexi, Camrea, Lilyanna, Brielle, Robert Alexander, Thomas and Benjie; great-grandchildren, Ellaina, Emma, and Lena; parents, Maynard and Verna (Eddington) Rucker; siblings, Diane Gregory, Kathy (Mickey) Guzzo, Leslie "Jay" (Deanna ) Rucker.
Services will be held for Brenda on Monday, April 6, 2026 at Riverside Community Church. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m., followed by a service at 11 a.m. and a luncheon.
