Bonnie Mae Ahrens, 79 of Rockford went to be with her Lord and Savior on June 3, 2010. Bonnie was born on July 15, 1930, in Arlington Heights, daughter of Floyd and Louella Walt. She was an avid crafter, and enjoyed making and selling items at various craft shows with her sisters. Bonnie enjoyed collecting bears of all types, shapes and sizes. She is survived by her son, Wayne (Peggy) Aherns of Rockford; granddaughter, Ginger (Ryan) Strader of Cary; great-grandsons, Dakota and Dylan; and sisters, Marge Broden of Hoffman Estates, Pat Kollie of Woodstock. Preceded in death by her parents and sister Ollie Riley.
A Celebration of Bonnie's Life will be on Saturday, June 19, 2010 at 1:00 pm at Five Gates Church, 821 4th Ave. Rockford. Bonnie's son, Pastor Wayne Ahrens will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the church.
