Beverly Jean Taylor, 91, of Loves Park died peacefully October 15, 2017 surrounded by family. Born October 13, 1926 to Ralph and Mildred Peters in Freeport. Married Joseph Taylor March 21, 1947. Employed at National Lock as Union Steward for many years. Owner of Jun-I-Purr Cattery for over 30 years. She enjoyed playing guitar and piano, dancing, singing, family, and her cats. She was an avid animal lover and won many awards. Survived by beloved daughter; Betty (Paul Anderson) McGuire; daughter, Sandy Dean; sister, Shirley Thompson; grandchildren, Lisa Taylor, Mechelle (Mike) Brown, Tammie (Jamie) Cogdill, Michael Taylor, Christopher Anderson, April Taylor, Jason (Katie) Taylor, Brendon (Nikki Lecole) McGuire, Montica (Jeremiah Gusk) McGuire; 19 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by husband; son, Joseph; grandchildren, Andrea, Daniel, and Cory; sister, Doris, Brother Dickie, and brother-in-law, Art. Memorial Service, Saturday, November 4, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Evans United Methodist Church, 7605 N. Second Street, Machesney Park. Memorial Visitation at 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
