Berdella Elsie Strommen, 89, of Rockford, IL died on March 28, 2016 in St. Anthony OSF Medical Center. Born on March 17, 1927; daughter of Bernard and Mary (Norby) Solfest. United in marriage to Robert Strommen on August 23, 1947. Berdella was a kind and compassionate soul. She was always there for her family and friends in both good times and bad. She was a steady, guiding force for her family and her death leaves a huge void. Survived by her daughter, Kathleen (Wayne) Dalton of Racine, WI; grandchildren, Christopher Nathan Hughes, Lauren Nicole Hughes both of Hilton Head, SC; great-grandson, Cody Hughes of Hilton Head, SC; siblings, Irene (Orlin) Lerdahl of Wautoma, WI and Laverne (Pat) Solfest of Racine, WI. Preceded in death by her husband, Robert; grandchildren, Casey Ainsworth and Callie Ainsworth and daughter, Mary Ainsworth.
