Benjamin Dean Chitwood, 74, of Rockford went to be with his Lord and Savior on January 30, 2022. Born October 9, 1947 in Richland Center, WI; son of Clem and Barbara (Dalton) Chitwood. Graduate of Blue River High School, Blue River, WI. United in marriage to Patricia Morgan on October 19, 1968. Ben was a Godly man, he lived his life with grace and kindness toward others; and sought to emulate Christ in his daily life and through his dedication to EnVision Europa, a ministry he founded with his wife and several friends. Ben enjoyed serving with the ministry in Romania. He spent three hours each day praying to his Heavenly Father. He was an excellent husband, father and grandfather. He loved spending time outdoors, hunting and fishing and was a talented gardener. He began his career at Chrysler working in assembly and retired as an inspector after 31 years. In addition to his Chrysler career, he also farmed the family homestead. Survived by his wife, Patricia; children, Mark (Corrie) Chitwood, Marcy (Mike) Marti; grandchildren, Essence Chitwood, Mark Chitwood Jr., Benjamin Chitwood, Mitchell Marti; and brother, William (Julie) Chitwood. Preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Jeanne Freymiller, Janice Chitwood and Joel Chitwood. Visitation Wednesday, February 2, 2022 from noon to 1:30 p.m. at Grace Funeral & Cremation Services; 4301 N. Main St. Rockford. Private family graveside service in Marsh Cemetery.
