Barry Alan Holligan, 39, of Machesney Park left this earth on March 5, 2013. He was born on December 25, 1973 in Rockford, son of Berry Holligan and Brenda Seyler. Graduate of Jefferson High School. Barry enlisted in the United States Marines during his junior year of high school and served from 1992-1996. He attended Rock Valley College and was employed as a Paramedic for Superior Ambulance Service. Barry was selflessly devoted to helping others. All of his pursuits in life revolved around making the world a better place, including his military service and his professional career. His children meant everything to him and he was a very dedicated dad, his presence will be greatly missed. Barry loved his family, and was the best son in the world; he never gave his parents any trouble when he was growing up. He was the definition of a big brother. He is survived by his children, Jacob, Ashley and Isaiah Holligan and their mother, Kim Klinger; father, Berry (Brenda) Holligan; mother, Brenda (Dennis) Seyler; grandmother, Jodell Brown; siblings, Clarrissa Davis, Jody Seyler, John Seyler, Sheena (Dave) Sommerfield; nephew, Damion Vecchione; nieces, Shayla Vecchione, Mackenzie Sommerfield; numerous Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. Preceded in death by his grandfathers, Darrell Brown, Louis Williams; sister-in-law, Felicia Seyler, Aunt Sandy Borden, and nephew Jullian Seyler. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, March 11, 2013 at 12:30 p.m. at Heartland Community Church, 1280 South Alpine Rd. Rockford.
