Beloved Mother, Grandmother, Sister and Friend
Barbara Colleen Hogan, 69, of Rockford passed away at home on March 4, 2013 at 5:55 p.m. after a lengthy illness, surrounded by her family. Born August 21, 1943, in Loves Park; daughter of John and E. Madeline (Stahl) Reese. She was a graduate of Harlem High School. Retired Daimler Chrysler employee. Barbara enjoyed life, loved spending time with her family, gardening and quilting. Barbara was a devoted Christian who loved the Lord. Survived by her son, Mark (Barb) Hogan; daughter, Lisa (Brent) Brock and their father Dewey Hogan; grandchildren, Nicole Sakinis, Carley (Matt) Sands, Steven Holland, Jesse Brock, Brandi Holland, Brayden Brock; great grandchildren, Elizabeth Newmann, Christian Sakinis, Autumn Hogan, Ashlynd Bennett, Jacob Hogan, Paige Sands, Victoria Sands; sister, Carolyn (Larry) Melling, niece, Lori Melling, Nephew, Ryan Melling; and several close cousins. Preceded in death by her parents. The family wishes to thank Dr. Merat Esfahani and his staff for all their kindness, support and care. A Memorial Service will be Saturday, March 9, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Grace Funeral & Cremation Services, 1340 South Alpine Rd. Rockford – At Colonial Village. Rev. David Mumm will officiate. Visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Cremation rites have been accorded. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Barbara's family to offset her medical expenses.
