Arthur Gilbert "Gil" Bailey, 76, of Rockford lost his long battle with cancer on November 29, 2015, with his loving companion of 28 years, Sue Beaver by his side. Born November 8, 1939 in Rockford, son of Arthur and Helen (Gilbert) Bailey. He was a master of words, which he used sparingly throughout his life. His dry sense of humor and wit will be missed. Survived by sons, Andrew "Guy" (Christine) Bailey, Arthur "Gregory" (Ginette) Bailey; grandchildren, Andrew "Geoffrey" (Summer) Bailey, Alexander "Guy" Bailey, Arthur "Garrett" (Georgie Louis) Bailey; step-granddaughter, Alex (Joe) Wells; Great-grandchildren, Axtyn "Gavin", Ascher "Grayson"; and Sue's children, Tom (Tasha) Beaver, Beth (Greg) Houser; step-great grandsons, Carter and Carson Wells; Sue's grandchildren, Joshua, Zack and Jacob Beaver and Jackson Houser. Celebration of Gil's life will be Thursday, December 3, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. at Grace Funeral & Cremation Services, 1340 South Alpine Rd. Rockford – at Colonial Village.
