Anne G. Hoekstra, 87, of Rockford died on February 22, 2017. Born on June 19, 1929 in Sioux Center, IA, daughter of Syne and Gertrude (Feikema) Gerritsma. United in marriage to Albert T. Hoekstra on December 29, 1950 in Sioux Center, IA. Formerly employed as a teacher at Timothy Christian School. She retired from Nieman Marcus. Anne loved music and she loved playing her piano. She taught Sunday School at Elmhurst Christian Reformed Church, and enjoyed the fellowship of her Bible Study groups. Survived by her children, Janna (Jack) Becherer of Rockford, Kathy (Rick) Omohundro of Fulton, MO, John (Jody) Hoekstra of Bloomington, Al Hoekstra Jr. of Northfield, MN, Dan (Amy) Hoekstra of Plainfield; grandchildren, Kelly, Emily (Matt), Molly, Joel, Mitchell, Abby (Taiyo), Bret (Janine), Garrick, Bonnie, Anna Grace; great-grandchildren, Lila, B Jackson; sister, Kay Sybesma. Preceded in death by her parents, husband, Albert on October 9, 2012; siblings, Ernest Gerritsma, Ida Bilthouse. Memorial Service will be on Monday, February 27, 2017 at noon at Midway Village, 6799 Guilford Road, Rockford. Rev. John Hilbelink of Providence Orthodox Presbyterian Church will officiate. Visitation at 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorials may be made in Anne's memory to the church.
