Andrew Joseph Brocato Jr., 66 of Cherry Valley died on July 6, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. Born on May 31, 1949 in Chicago, son of Andrew and Rosalie (Volpe) Brocato Sr. Graduate of Proviso West High School, Hillside. After graduation, Andrew enlisted in the United States Marines; while serving in Vietnam, he was the recipient of numerous medals including a Purple Heart. United in marriage to Melody Hayden on May 29, 1969 in New Bern, NC. Formerly employed as a police officer for Memorial Park District in Bellwood, and in Glendale Heights; retiring from the Department of Defense. Survived by his wife, Melody; daughter, Rose Brocato; granddaughter, Brittany Brocato; great-granddaughters, Aunnalea, and Samiyah; mother, Rosalie Volpe, all of Cherry Valley; father, Andrew Brocato of Florida; brother, Paul (Sherry) Brocato of Florida; sisters and brothers-in-law in Minnesota and Florida, and numerous nieces and nephews.
