Loving Father and Friend Paul Edward Keen, 68 of Rockford died December 24, 2009 in OSF St. Anthony Medical Center. Son of Robert and Eliza (Yates) Keen. Born in Wilson, Arkansas on October 10, 1941. Paul was an accomplished woodworker and enjoyed making complex birdhouses and other decorative pieces. He loved watching sports on television, especially his favorite team, the Washington Redskins. Paul participated in outings and activities with the Illinois School for the Deaf. He was a good natured, loving man who set people at ease with his sense of humor and jokes. Paul is survived by his daughters, Julie (Mark) Chamberlain of Roscoe, Jammie Keen of Rockford; siblings, Arthur (Rose) Keen, Wayne (Jean) Keen, both of Rockford; Charles (Elaine) Keen, Machesney Park; Helen (LC) Burns of Loves Park; grandsons, Kyrk Fields, and Lucas Chamberlain, and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents and siblings, Gerald, Williford and Robert Keen Jr. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at 1 pm at Heartland Community Church, with visitation one hour prior to the service; 1280 South Alpine, Rockford, Rev. Dr. Ronald C. Meyer, Officiant. A sign language interpreter will be present for the visitation and funeral service. Cremation rites will be accorded.
