Mark Carl Hamp

March 20, 1959 - January 26, 2022

Mark Carl Hamp, 62, of South Beloit died on January 26, 2022. Born March 20, 1959, in Chicago; son of George and Mary (Knuckles) Hamp. Graduate of Knoxville Highschool in Knoxville, IL. He served in the United States Air Force. He was currently working at R&L Inc. as an amazing truck driver. Mark loved riding his Harley and was obsessed with ANYTHING HARLEY DAVIDSON. He cherished and honored being a member of ABATE Illinois, Thunder Rock Chapter. His grandchildren brought him such joy, and he loved spending time with them all. He loved teaching them things that would most likely get them in trouble by his daughter, but that was just how he was. Mark was a great dad, grandpa, father-in-law, son, brother, and friend. He had a gregarious, outgoing personality and was quick witted and kind. He had a way of putting people at ease, never met a stranger, and was always the center of attention wherever he went. Mark loved to cook and entertain. He enjoyed listening to rock and roll music and dancing the night away. When Mark loved, he loved hard. His eyes alone would capture your heart along with his inappropriate/obscene jokes and expressions. His biggest signature move was "flipping the bird". Mark was a free bird, a brother to his biker club, he was a great listener and best friend to so many. Survived by children, Casey (Ramont) Mitchell, Luke, Holden and Jenna Hamp; grandchildren, Koby Mitchell, Ramont Mitchell Jr., Jayceon Mitchell, Racey Mitchell, "AKA Markisha" (Papa Mark's nickname for her); Amya Mitchell, Amara Mitchell; brother, Matt Hamp; several, nieces, nephews, cousins and his Mastiff, Dutchess. Preceded in death by his parents, aunts, uncles and his baby, Lumpy. Visitation on Saturday, February 5, 2022 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 3 p.m. at Grace Funeral & Cremation Services; 4301 N. Main St. Rockford.
