Lorraine Annette Banwell Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

ROCKFORD - Lorraine A. Banwell, 71, passed away May 18, 2022 peacefully in her sleep at home. She was born on November 13, 1950 in Rockford, IL, the daughter of Clifford K. Prell and Marie F. (Whisler) Prell. She was a graduate of Auburn High School, 1968, and a member of Heartland Community Church / Forest City Church. She was a retired para professional at West View Elementary School and later Lincoln Middle School for 20 years. Lorraine was a sweet lady with a loving disposition who enjoyed reading, crocheting, knitting, sewing and the solitude of living in the country. She is survived by her best friend, partner, and caregiver, Gene Franseen; her mother; children: Natalie (Eric)Thomas of Rockford and Michael (Andi) Banwell of Darien, WI; grandchildren: Marissa Marin, Mikayla Hudson, Hanna Banwell, and Connor Banwell; 2 great-grand children: Amaya and Aiden; sisters: Marsha Sharp and Nancy (Charles) Agnew; several aunts, uncles, cousins, and nieces. Predeceased by her father, numerous aunts and uncles. Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation starting at 2:00 PM on Saturday, July 9, 2022 at Grace Funeral & Cremation Services located at 4301 N Main St, Rockford, IL 61103.
