Elia Marie Harper, 93 of Rockford, formerly of Scottsdale, AZ went to heaven on September 13, 2017 at Fairhaven Christian Retirement Center. Born on May 25, 1924 in Chicago, daughter of Salvatore “Sam” and Therisina (Bruno) Crisorio. Formerly employed as a bank teller at the Federal Reserve Bank in Chicago; and at the Federal Savings Bank in Oak Park. Elia was a talented musician, she had a lovely voice, and enjoyed sharing it with her family and as a singer at weddings, conferences and special events. She truly had a professional caliber of talent, but she chose to focus on raising her family. She is fondly remembered by her family as the absolute best grandmother in the world. She could fix anything with hugs, kisses and ice cream. Survived by daughter, Penelope “Penny” (Richard) Campana; son Ronald (Tina) Harper, six grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Gilda Crisorio, Ilma Lange, Hilda Maloney; and husband Russell Harper. Celebration of Life on September 23, 2017 at 10 a.m., in the chapel of Fairhaven Christian Retirement Center, 3470 N. Alpine Road, Rockford. Pastor David Petty will officiate. Visitation at 9 am until the time of service. Interment in Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Fairhaven Life Enrichment.
