Carol Ann Stavlund, 71, passed into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior on April 5, 2018 at Alpine Fireside surrounded by her loving family. Born August 30, 1946 in Chicago to Clifford and Ann (Guzik) Storzbach, she grew up in the Stevens Point area. Married Bruce Stavlund in Rockford on July 7, 1968. Survived by husband, Bruce; daughter, Katrina (Chance Conn) Mattern; son, Erik (John) Duda Stavlund; brother, Clifford (Marsha) Storzbach and many wonderful nieces and nephews she loved dearly. Predeceased by parents and great-niece Kalea Storzbach. Formerly employed by Chrysler Corporation and then began subdividing and selling acreage on the farm and building houses with her husband. Carol was blessed with a lovely voice; she sang at many weddings and had opera leads at UW Stevens Point. Carol served as an officer in Women's Missionary Society at First Evangelical Free Church and was a leader at Guilford H.S. "Natural Helpers". She loved shopping, cooking, boating and travel to many parts of the country. Her favorites were Minocqua, Door County and Hawaii. Carol’s family is grateful to the staff of Alpine Fireside for their compassionate care. Memorial Visitation Friday, April 13, 2018 at 10 a.m. at First Evangelical Free Church, 2223 N. Mulford Rd. Rockford. Celebration of Life at 11 am at the church. Pastor Chuck Rife will officiate. Cremation rites accorded. Carol loved tropical flowers, memorials may also be made in her memory to her family; and will be distributed to organizations close to her heart.
