Beverly Oberg

June 17, 1948 - January 15, 2021

Beverly Ann Oberg, 72, of Rockford went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 15, 2021. Born June 17, 1948 in Rice Lake, WI; daughter of Norman and Elinor (Porath) Schesvold. United in marriage to Gary Oberg on October 19, 1968 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Rockford. Graduate of East High School and attended Northern Illinois University. Bev retired from Rockford Cardiology Associates, where she was employed as a billing manager. She was diagnosed with Type I diabetes over 60 years ago, a diagnosis she handled with grace and resilience. Bev was blessed with so many, many talents, all of which she artfully and meticulously crafted to serve her God and help others. Bev enjoyed sewing, quilting, cooking delicious meals, gardening, and above all spending time with those she treasured most, her beloved family. Many treasured memories were made at their lake house in Door County, WI. Each Christmas, she made hundreds of cookies for others to enjoy. She was a master at creating beautiful family celebrations of life such as: bridal and baby showers, anniversaries, and birthdays. She was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church, P.E.O. Chapter V Sisterhood organization and the Sinnissippi Quilters. Survived by her devoted husband, Gary; loving children, Brent Oberg, Karrie (Jason) LaCroix; grandchildren, Austen Oberg, May LaCroix, Tucker LaCroix; sisters, Barbara (Ralph) Brown, Gloria (Jim Fuchs) Schesvold; brother-in-law, Tom (Jean) Oberg; sister-in-law, Deb (Charles) Grigalauski; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins. Preceded in death by her parents and sweet granddaughter, Emma LaCroix. A walk-through visitation will be held on Friday, January 22 from 10am to 12 pm at Trinity Lutheran Church, 200 N. First Street, Rockford, followed by a private family funeral service, due to Covid-19. Please wear a facemask and practice social distancing at the walk-through visitation. Amidst the COVID pandemic, the family respects your decision to forgo the visitation; a webcast of the funeral may be watched here on Friday, January 22 at 1pm here: https://webcasts.lifetributes.com/1114428: Private family interment in Arlington Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the United Mitochondrial Disease Foundation at https://www.classy.org/give/153589/#!/donation/checkout or Trinity Lutheran Church. Grace Funeral & Cremation is assisting the family. Share a message of condolence at www.graceFH.com.
